While LeBron James is busy placing himself on the Mt Rushmore of NBA players, Kevin Durant has a different take on the best of all-time. Durant isn’t ready to give himself too much credit, at least yet, but he does have an opinion that will probably elicited some cheers and jeers, especially from the age old internet argument of LeBron vs Kobe.
Speaking to the LADN, Durant said that Kobe Bryant was right up with the Michael Jordan as the greatest of all-time:
“He’s the greatest of all time. His skill is second to none. Him and MJ are neck and neck as far as skill,” Durant said. “Kobe is the top two best ever in just having skill, footwork, shooting the 3, shooting the pull-up, posting up, dunking on guys and ball handling. Kobe and Jordan are 1 and 1A.”
Remember, Kobe and Durant are friends, while Durant is more of a peer when it comes to James. He holds Kobe in the highest regard and has much respect for him because of that.
It certainly isn’t surprising he would say what he did, and Kobe based his play on Jordan. Even Jordan said this. But better than LeBron? I don’t know about that. Maybe more accomplished, at least at this point.
