The NBA has released its 2013 version of the GM Survey on Tuesday, where they provide an initial thought process on the season ahead.
Unsurprisingly, Miami and specifically, LeBron James, is ahead of the field.
Team winning the NBA Finals: 75.9%
Team winning the Southeast Division: 100%
MVP winner: LeBron at 69%
Player of choice when starting a team from scratch: LeBron at 89.7%
Player that forces the most adjustments for a coach: LeBron at 66.7%
Best SF: LeBron at 86.7%
Most athletic: LeBron at 56.7%
Most dangerous in the open floor: LeBron at 73.3%
Best at-the-rim finisher: LeBron at 70%
But Kevin Durant has this in his favor:
Guy you want taking the last shot with the game on the line. KD at 39.3% (Kobe is at 32.1%, with LeBron & Melo tied at 7.1%)
Does this feed into the LeBron isn’t clutch argument, as has always been the Skip Bayless perennial narrative? Maybe.
But LeBron can show this as his proof (from last year’s Eastern Playoffs).
And then there’s Game 7 vs San Antonio:
Oh, yeah, and he has hit more clutch shots than anyone else, and is more efficient over the last 10 years.
Any questions? Good. Now as you were, people.
