According to the Washington City Paper, Malone had been the target of a year long DEA investigation, and agents had made several drug purchases from a dealer working with Malone. DEA agents also executed wire taps on Malone’s phone. This lead to a search of Malone’s home. The Washington City Paper has the details.

Agents who searched his home found what’s believed to be kilo of cocaine, 100 grams of suspected heroin, a handgun, and unnamed items associated with heroin sales, according to court documents. Malone and another alleged dealer have been charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin.

The City Paper also has the full charging documents, which are an interesting read. Malone is likely facing significant jail time.
