The Florida Gators looked to be having themselves a solid offseason, free of controversy, and off-the-field distractions until this past weekend when linebacker Antonio Morrison was arrested for punching a bouncer at a Gainesville club. Now, arrests of college players isn’t something new or shocking, especially for the Gators, but what happened prior to the punch that landed him in jail, that was what was pure gold and needs repeating.
According to the AP report, when Morrison was told he had to pay the full cover charge, he did his best to inform the bouncer who he was:
“Do you know who I am? I am a UF football player. I am Antonio!” Morrison said.
Classic. This should lead to some great ribbing from opponents fans when the Gators pay a visit to their SEC counterparts. We can only imagine the bouncer replied with, “Who?”
