It hasn’t been a very good year for the Los Angeles Dodgers. They were supposed to not only compete for the NL West crown, but also for a World Series. But they are now languishing in last place, 7.5 games back, and manager Don Mattingly recently received the dreaded vote of confidence. Hey, but they won yesterday against the Los Angeles Angels, their ‘crosstown rival.’
But prior to the win, Zack Greinke struck out the Angels Mike Trumbo, but the ball Ramon Hernandez, which allowed Mike Trout to score and Albert Pujols to advance to third. When Hernandez attempted to get Trumbo out at first, he airmailed it over Adrian Gonzalez head, allowing Pujols to score. If you can, cue up some Benny Hill music:
Lucky for the Dodgers, the Angels also are also under .500 with sky-high payroll.
