Flock of Alabama players arrested

February 12, 2013
By

D.J. PettwayIf you had Alabama Wide Receiver Eddie Williams listed as a potential breakout player in 2012, back of B. The former five star recruit was arrested along with Defensive End D.J. Pettway Linebacker Tyler Hayes and Linebacker Brent Calloway for a slew of major felonies. Each punishable by several years in the poke.

Williams, whose decision making process is clearly substandard, went further, electing to waive his right to an attorney. Subsequent questioning by the police led to a very detailed admission, that also implicated his teammates (and now co-defendants).

Reports say that Williams approached the victim early (like before the sun was up) Monday, and battered him obtaining his credit card in the process. He went on to make several purchases with the card with his teammates. Fun times for all, well until he was arrested. The alleged victim suffered several lacerations to the face, mild concussions and severe swelling.

In an unrelated case, Williams was recently caught with an unlicensed firearm after arguing with a gas station attendant over payment for gas.

You ask, where does this leave the Tide? It doesn’t matter. This team is so deep that losing four young promising players will only be small scratch on the well buffed Ferrari.

Yup, Alabama will just cut the four guys, issue a statement and move on as if nothing happened. Won’t cause any sanctions or eligibility issues and it will just free up four more scholarships.
