Video: Michigan State’s Branden Dawson punched Purdue’s Travis Carrol

Tom Izzo has been looking to get sophomore forward Branden Dawson playing with more fire, and it seemed he found it in the second half in the Spartans victory over the Boilermakers. Dawson already has history with Purdue, as he spurned the university in his home state to attend MSU, and he barked at Matt Painter during a game last year. But he cranked it up a notch or two on Saturday, and seems to have gone over-the-line.

In real time, it appears as if Dawson makes an aggressive move towards Travis Carrol following a Gary Harris three-pointer, but difficult to confirm if it was a punch

A zoomed in view with the play slowed down, and it sure does seem to confirm the dirty play by Dawson.

Don’t be shocked to see Izzo make an example of Dawson for this. It also wouldn’t surprise me to see the B1G take action as well.
