Louisiana Tech’s Sonny Dykes to interview at NC State

November 28, 2012
By

The brass at NC State have made it very apparent that they want their new coach to be someone who will come in and sell tickets. While it’s tough for the Wolfpack to go out and hammer down a huge name, they can go a second route. They can try and bring in someone who will score a lot of point. Fans love points, they caress and care for them like babies. Points are very special.

Last week it was reported the school had been looking at Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris as their new head coach. Morris, is currently the highest paid assistant in football, but for a good reason. He has slowly molded the Clemson offense into what could be best described as Oregon East.

Reports out of Louisiana suggest another offensive power head, Sonny Dykes, will be interviewing for the same position. Dykes, a long time assistant for Mike Leach and Kevin Sumlin, is the current head coach for Louisiana Tech and would bring that patented “Air Raid” score a lot of points offense to Raleigh. Again, fans love points. This season he’s lead Louisiana Tech to a 9-3 season, and their first back to back bowl appearances since the 70s.

Dykes replaced Derek Dooley after he took the job at Tennessee in 2010. He has gone 22-15 during his three seasons in Shreveport.

I would have gone with the Debbie Yow likes Dykes headline.

Possibly the most random sentence I have ever read, well done.
