Video: Upton brothers each hit their 100th home run on same night

August 3, 2012
By

There have been several brothers that have made it to the Majors Leagues, but none have been linked as closely as BJ and Justin Upton. Both were top 2 picks in their respective drafts of 2002 and 2005 by the Tampa Bay Rays and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Earlier tonight, they became the 6th pair of brothers to hit 100 home runs. Justin hit a solo shot for his #100 in the 2nd inning off Phillies’ starter Kyle Kendrick. Just minutes later, BJ hit his 100th off the Orioles’ Tommy Hunter in the 4th inning. Coincidentally enough, they hit their 99th home runs on the same night as well (July 20).

The other pairs of brothers to hit 100 home runs or more each are the DiMaggio’s, Boone’s, Alomar’s, Boyer’s, and Meusel’s.

Here is video of the historic night for the Brothers Upton
