Michigan State center Derrick Nix was arrested last night on charges of operating a vehicle with the presence of drugs and marijuana possession. The charges have rocked the foundation of the program, as Nix was looked at as the leader of next year’s team.
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo has released at statement:
“Based on the information we have received, Derrick Nix has been suspended indefinitely from our basketball team, and his future with our program is uncertain. He made an irresponsible decision that has put his future with our program in serious jeopardy.”
If true, Michigan State could legitmately be looking at a rough situation next fall.
