The Democratic National Convention will begin their week long festival in Charlotte on September 3rd. The Convention which usually consists of several nights of newsworthy speeches and rallys has thrown a wrench in the plays of the NFL. You see, the President will appear before the delegates on Thursday, September 6, 2012. Why, that was the night the NFL was supposed to kick off!
In order to avoid conflicts between newsworthy events and sports (or lose TV ratings if you’re NBC. See: OJ vs. NBA Finals), the NFL has graciously agreed to kick off their season on a night normally reserved for MACtion.
The game will feature the New York Giants and a yet to be disclosed opponent.

NFL is doing Barry a favor, football game would have crushed his speech about nothing in the ratings.
