Last year, the Boston Red Sox collapse was quite historic. The stories behind the disruptive behavior in the clubhouse have become legendary. The starting pitchers were rumored to be drinking beer on many occasions, as well as other teammates. This isn’t shocking to others that have played in the Majors, but the organization, especially new manager Bobby Valentine, can’t let anything be a distraction this year.

The decision by Valentine isn’t strictly due to what happened a year ago, because he has done this with other teams before. Many other teams also have the practice, like there rivals in New York. He claims that the reaction was “somewhere right in between a standing (ovation) and a standing boo.”
There is no word on whether or not chicken wings were banned as well.

How are they going to survive without booze in the clubhouse. Just plain unAmerican.
