Got $30k to blow? Might as well take a look at this eBay auction for a Jeremy Lin autographed rookie card with a swatch from a game-worn jersey embedded in it.
This happens every time there is some major story in sports. Some entrepreneur decides to cash in on their good fortune, selling whatever cards, photos, and memorabilia they have available at top dollar. In fairness, this particular card is from a very short-printed “insert” set of cards, though I have to admit I have never heard of the Panini brand. But similar autographed and game-worn cards are usually among the most expensive in any particular set.
Of course… nothing would justify spending $30k on this, short of Jeremy Lin winning an NBA Title, and immediately retiring to announce he’s patented a new wonder drug that will cure AIDS, Cancer and the Common Cold all at once, all while figuring out a way to fix the world economy.
