The Morning After: September 1, 2011

September 1, 2011
By

Hello friends, and welcome to the 2011 college football season.  Tonight begins the fantastic 4 month beauty pageant we all love so much.  There are 14 (!) games on tonight’s docket, 2 of which you can watch on ESPNU, and UNLV at number 11 Wisconsin is on ESPN, while you all fire up ESPN3.com to watch the Western Carolina Catamounts travel to the oldest and winningest stadium in FBS to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.  I’m sure the Happy Hour post will be jumping with comments this evening, but alas, I won’t be able to participate, as I’ll be on The Flats to see the aforementioned Jackets.  Links and such after the jump.

The final Fulmer Cupdate for 2011. (Ed’s BS)

After coming up with a ridiculous logo and even more ridiculous division names, the B1G at least got the trophy right. (Doc Saturday)

Here’s some Xs & Os pr0n on the inverted veer. (Smart Football)

The Key Play kicks off their weekly cooking segment. Up first: brats. (The Key Play)

Charts, graphs, and numbers your thing? Then this Clemson-Troy depth chart comparison is for you. (Shakin the Southland)

Bill Curry, Vince Dooley, and Lou Holtz discuss the state of college football. (AJC)
