The Morning After – December 20, 2010 edition

Welcome to Today’s edition of The Victory Formation.

Christmas is just a few days away. It’s this Saturday already and we can already feel the moment is just upon us. The midnight masses have already commenced. The traffic has been horrendous with all the sales that have popped up. After all, it was payday weekend and the bonuses have already arrived onto the payroll.

Over the weekend, I decided to give back and do a charitable venture. It is important that we remember the true meaning and spirit of the holiday season. It’s not just about the ancillary parts. The truth about the holiday is that someone was born that was of importance and value. That individual would also remind us of a particular passage entitled Matthew 25:40.

Besides we don’t want to look like this person below at this time of the year, right?

Angry Miz Girl

Hereforth are the links to kick off Christmas Week:

The Motherland may have failed in the quest, but it surely planted the seeds that would come into fruition eventually.

88 straight. Amazing.

Bowl season has commenced. BYU pounced on UTEP. Northern Illinois showed no mercy to Fresno State. Trojans just took it to Ohio.

The mess in Maryland continues. People are not pleased.

The State of New York drew 1-1 against the State of Pennsylvania. Both games provided drama. However for the State of NY, one was an epic fail. The other was a near epic fail.

Dan Connelly just pulled one of the great KO returns ever. It was icing on the cake.

The Broncos had a Tebowner. Here’s proof.

The Michael Vick PR reclamation project continues.

Fins on ice.

The final link to the Babe has moved on.

Remember the puck that kills?

Why spend and waste exorbitant time and money? As someone who saw this kind of debacle earlier this year, The Big Ten should just do it already.

Blame it on the red field.

The NL Cy Young race just got a lot more interesting.

Twins hope he is not the next Kaz Matsui.

Yankees have moved on to their Plan B. Meanwhile, the Red Sox is in lockstep.

No Izzo, no problem.

More Miz vs Cycledan action.

Rick Pitino has tabled his plans for the summer.

Calipari gets a UN nod as a good guy. Who knew?

Knightro is 10-0. So is Jared Sullinger.

Looks like the PacMan protege plans something for Floyd in 2012. Still have no idea what the Pac has in store in the ring for 2011. Meanwhile, Floyd still remains a troubled soul.

Probably took cue from Hedo.

Speaking of Hedo, here’s a little more detail on the trades involving the Magic Kingdom.

What now without Yao?

What a neat ploy by Modell‘s.

Tough sledding for the Bulls without Noah.

Pistons been getting some attention lately.

Lakers and Celtics just keep rolling along.

When you riot, make sure you know the correct nationality.

And to part ways today, I give you a classic tune that I feel is still apt now as it was decades ago.

  1. Knightro is 10-0.

Not jinxing this. I will say we should be ranked in the top 25 for the first time ever. And while I acknowledge and agree that season rankings in CBB are meaningless, it adds to a good year for UCF following our first ever top 25 CFB ranking this fall.

    GO KNIGHTS!

  2. I love how everyone is blaming the Giants punter. Like he’s the one responsible for the 3 previous scores before the punt. As bad as his punt was (not out of bounds), the effort or lack thereof on the onside kick was even more egregious.

Cue Denny Green, “They are who we thought they were. And we let them get away.”

  3. It isn’t all Dodge’s fault. Was it a huge mistake? You betcha. more on this all later.

Cabbage – I am a fan of your Croation wisdom.

  5. You can’t give up 28 points in 8 minutes and blame just one guy. It was a communal effort by coaches and players on both sides of the ball.

  6. Trey, I watched the first half of the Denver game and Tebow had good and bad moments. He had no business even throwing that touchdown pass into double coverage, but it worked.

He looked great running the ball. I honestly think he could make it as a power RB.

  7. More Miz vs Cycledan action.

Those preseason inter-conference matches are kind of fun. The first one was an ACC-Big East challenge that ended up in a tie the only two years they had it. I attended one of them.

I think NCAA basketball needs all star games pitting conferences against each other. They have silly East West games in football, wouldn’t a Big East-ACC-B10-B12-SEC-MWC-PAC10 type all start playoff bracket for graduating seniors be phenomenal?

  8. After watching teh Giants debacle (or most of it) I really thought the Jets were going to give it away at the end. The Jets won but if they didn’t, all we would be hearing about is their terrible clock management. There were about 3-4 plays in the last few minute where the Jets could have kept the clock running and didn’t. Going for the conversion on 3rd down I guess makes sense but if you run it on 3-3, you might get the first as well but also keep the clock running. A couple of plays RBs ran out of bounds and that is really inexcusable. At least they hung on.

We can look forward to a possible win in the WC round now but no expectations past that.

  9. Really a song with Yoko Ono in it? jp needs to get his song priviledges revoked.

so, i’m not the only one who thought this

  10. i think i have a different song taste that everyone else has…

  11. Is it John Lennon’s Happy Christmas (War Is Over) Song? because that’s not a bad song. I hardly even notice Yoko in it

  12. yup

Is it John Lennon’s Happy Christmas (War Is Over) Song? because that’s not a bad song. I hardly even notice Yoko in it

Probably because it contains footage of Yoko in it.
